When should a child see the dentist for the first time?

We recommend that a child should see the dentist when he or she reaches age three, when all the baby teeth are erupted.  However, in some instances where parents notice changes or abnormalities in their kids’ teeth or gum, or when children complain about discomfort orally,  they should be brought to the dentist as soon as possible in order that treatment can be recommended at the earliest possible time.  It is important to develop a good rapport between a child and the dentist so that he or she will establish a healthy diet and oral hygiene program.
